After The Fall

I’m gonna miss connectivity after the fall
I’m gonna miss grocery stores, restaurants and malls
I’m gonna miss electricity at my finger tips
Gonna miss watching TV and falling asleep
No more driving down the interstate
No more crossroads where we wait
No more flying through the open skies
No more of those cameras scanning our eyes
After the fall, after the fall, okay with it all /at one with/away from/ it all

Living in a village with a God man and a chief
No misunderstandings now, each to their own belief
We’re gonna slowly grow back what’s left of the good
Spending long summer days gathering winter wood
Pulling on my hat and my old muddy boots
Heading to the cellar with a basket full of roots
Saying good morning sunshine, hello fresh air
Acting as the moment suits when we dare
After the fall, after the fall, after the fall, okay with/at one with/away from/ it all

Just like in Cloud Atlas when Corpocracy implodes
Haystacks in the meadow as in days of old
We’ll have an orchard, a garden and a field
Living on the gifts that mother nature yields
In our little house we’ll burn logs and reminisce
Ending every day with sweet words and a kiss
Was there ever any doubt it would come to this,
And soon we won’t remember all the things that we miss
